How we source and check our data

Our price comparison and legal checker publish numbers and legal summaries, so we say how we get them: primary sources only, two independent checks before publishing, a read date on every row, a review every three months, and a public list of corrections. Where we could not confirm something, we say so instead of guessing.

Where the data comes from

  • Prices: each vendor's own website, read on 13 October 2026 from Pakistan, where the pages showed US dollars. Every row links to its page.
  • Legal summaries: national legislation and official government guidance, read on 13 October 2026. Every answer links to the text we read.

How we check it

Research tools read each source, and two independent automated reviewers then check the result: one re-reads every row against its source, and the other tries to disprove it. We apply every finding. Where a source blocked us or we could not confirm a fact, the tool shows "not established" instead of a guess.

A lawyer has not reviewed the legal data. It is information, not legal advice.

What we leave out, and why

  • signNow: its plan names and limits conflict across its own pages.
  • Foxit eSign: its page showed Pakistani rupees and we could not establish a US dollar price.
  • Taxes, promotions, add-ons and charges above a plan's limit.
  • Court rules, state-level law in the United States and Australia, and EU member-state law.

How often we refresh it

Every three months. Each tool shows the date it was read.

Corrections

  • 14 October 2026, before publication: an independent review found 12 of 54 legal answers overstated what their source says (for example US wills, UK powers of attorney and Canadian wills). We narrowed every one, relabelled "excluded" as "not covered by the e-signature law", and marked answers we inferred.
  • 13 October 2026, before publication: independent reviews of the price table added team plans we had left out (Documenso Teams, SignWell extra senders), removed signNow, and corrected Dropbox Sign's user limit.
