DocuSign API alternatives: what the API plans cost and who publishes a price
By the nodshake team. Published 14 October 2026, updated 14 October 2026.
DocuSign's developer API plans are $50 to $480 a month billed annually ($75 to $720 billed monthly). That is $1.25 to $4.80 an envelope billed annually, $1.88 to $7.20 billed monthly, if you use the whole allowance. BoldSign, Zoho Sign, SignWell, Dropbox Sign and DocuSeal publish API prices; DocuSign's price above its limit is not stated.
Key points
- DocuSign's API plans are $50, $300 and $480 a month billed annually, or $75, $450 and $720 billed monthly; Enhanced is contact sales with a 5-user minimum.
- The DocuSign pricing table lists embedded signing only on Enhanced, and its free developer account is not valid for legal purposes.
- BoldSign, Zoho Sign, SignWell, Dropbox Sign, DocuSeal and SignNow publish API prices; Adobe is quote only and PandaDoc's API pricing page could not be read.
- Compare on cost per envelope at your own volume, not on the plan headline.
What DocuSign's API plans include
From DocuSign's developer pricing page, read 14 October 2026.[1] The page shows each plan per month billed annually and, higher, billed monthly. Cost per envelope is the monthly price divided by the envelopes on the page, which assumes you use every one. Billed annually the plans are $600 a year (Starter), $3,600 a year (Intermediate), $5,760 a year (Advanced).

| Plan | Per month, billed annually | Per month, billed monthly | Envelopes | Per envelope (annual / monthly) | Embedded signing | Bulk send | Branding |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $50 | $75 | Starting amount of 40 envelopes/month | $1.25 / $1.88 | Does not include | No | No |
| Intermediate | $300 | $450 | 100/month | $3.00 / $4.50 | Does not include | No | Yes |
| Advanced | $480 | $720 | Starting at 100/mo | $4.80 / $7.20 | Does not include | Listed both ways | Yes |
| Enhanced | Contact sales | Contact sales | Higher send volumes | Contact sales | Included | Yes | Yes |
Embedded sending is listed on every plan. The embedded signing column is the literal text of the pricing table; we did not find it confirmed elsewhere, so check it with DocuSign before you build on it. The table also lists bulk send on Advanced both ways: one row says it includes bulk send through the REST API, and a later Bulk Send row says Does Not Include. The page also says envelopes sent from a free developer account are not valid for legal purposes.[1]
Vendors that publish an API price
Each figure comes from the vendor's own page, read 14 October 2026, from a Pakistan connection (Dropbox Sign and Adobe price by region).[2][3][4][5][6][7]

How to choose and where nodshake fits
- Work out the envelopes you send in a month, then divide each plan's price by that number, not by its allowance.
- Check what happens over the limit: DocuSign does not state it, BoldSign publishes an overage price ($0.75 an envelope), and for Dropbox Sign it is not established.[1][2]
- Check embedded signing, bulk send and branding by plan before you pick one.
nodshake Business / API starts from $0.30 per signed document. Volume pricing is agreed in writing. API access, white-label signing or bulk sending are available on request. nodshake counts a signed document; most vendors above count an envelope or request when it is sent, so the two are not the same basis. See nodshake for business and how pricing works. For per-user plans, the cost calculator compares them. Need it built for you? Our team offers paid setup and migration.
Not established: DocuSign's price above a developer plan's envelope limit, which plans include DocuSign Connect (webhooks), and its bulk send limit (its pricing table lists bulk send both ways on Advanced); Whether DocuSign bulk-send copies each count against the envelope allowance; What Dropbox Sign charges or does over a tier, and how a bulk send counts against it; Adobe Acrobat Sign API prices (quote only) and Adobe's bulk send limit; PandaDoc API prices (the pricing page could not be read); BoldSign's bulk send add-on price; Prices outside Pakistan, where Adobe and Dropbox Sign vary by region.
